Patients at GP surgeries could be used in trials for experimental drugs in a bid to promote clinical research and shorten wait times as part of a £650 million funding package pledged for the UK’s life sciences sector, a report has recommended.
Announced by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt, the life sciences ‘war chest’ is the latest Government effort to follow up on the Prime Minister’s pledge to turn the UK into a ‘science superpower’.
