Australia adds veteran wicketkeeper to Ashes squad as Inglis prepares trip home

Jimmy Peirson has been drafted into Australia’s Ashes squad and will replace Josh Inglis for part of the tour as backup wicketkeeper.

Peirson will join the Australian team ahead of the second Test at Lord’s, with Inglis planning to return home for the birth of his first child.

Inglis will then rejoin the squad in England at a later date.
