Two murderers who beat their victim in a ‘savage’ attack, dragged him down the street and left him to die in an old utility box after a row over £20 have been jailed for life.

Blaine Hammond, 22, was found with multiple severe head injuries in a green container near allotments on Saltburn Road in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear.

Anthony Keating and Louis Whelan left him with 13 blows to his head and other devastating injuries including abrasions and fractures on December 2.  

Newcastle Crown Court heard doctors and paramedics attended the scene but nothing could be done to save his life.
