NRL star Josh Mansour ‘was headhunted’ to run for office against the man many are tipping to be the next premier of NSW – but winger turned it down to make footy comeback

Josh Mansour rejected the chance to run for office in March’s state election, after being approached to run for the NSW Liberal Party.

A representative of Dom Perrottet’s government approached Mansour, 32, to ask whether he would be interested in running against Labor leader Chris Minns in the marginal seat of Kogarah.
