Cowboys’ Brett Maher first PAT vs. 49ers is BLOCKED (and it would have missed anyway)


Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher’s first point-after attempt in Sunday’s Divisional Playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers was blocked following his four-missed PATs in last week’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 

San Francisco’s Samson Ebukam got a hand on the ball, which appeared to be sailing wide left anyway. 

‘I think this ball is gonna miss by 10 feet to the left,’ Fox Sports’ Greg Olsen said of the replay. ‘Watch, he’s on the left hash… this ball was blocked in the left A-gap.’

Maher has missed eight extra points this season, including the playoffs, which is the most since the Pittsburgh Steelers’ David Trout in 1981. Dating back to the season finale in Washington, Maher has missed six of his last seven PATs. He did make a third-quarter field goal against the…
