A transgender man gave birth to their first child after a one-night stand in 2020, and has since shared their parenting journey on social media.
Born with female reproductive organs, 36-year-old Danny Wakefield identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns.
Wakefield, who lives in Seattle, presents as transmasculine, meaning they do not identify as a woman.
However, after deciding to take a break from their schedule testosterone treatments two years ago, Wakefield suddenly found themselves pregnant – an increasingly common occurrence among transitioning women in the US.
Despite identifying as a masculine, Wakefield decided to carry out the pregnancy, embracing the roles of both mother and father simultaneously as a single parent.
