A woman has been hailed a hero for rescuing a floundering Aussie native animal from a backyard swimming pool. 

In a video uploaded to TikTok, Shan Croc, 38, is seen scrambling around her pool after spotting an echidna trying to figure out how to escape.

The prickly monotreme somehow managed to navigate the pool fence and fall into the water at Ms Croc’s property in Muckadilla, in regional Queensland.
