Group D permutations: Australia could qualify with draw against Denmark if results go their way

Didier Deschamps’ side could qualify with a victory over Denmark in their second game of the group.

If they were to draw against the Danish, then either a draw or win would be good enough in their final game with Tunisia.

A defeat today, would leave France going into the final game of the group potentially needing to avoid defeat, as a draw with Australia and Denmark would send those teams through.

France’s superior goal difference advantage as it stands could prove crucial if the group is decided by a tie-breaker.

A victory or draw for France today could see Australia qualify with a draw against Denmark.

However, Tunisia could then still join Australia on four points if they were to pull off an upset against France – meaning a tie-breaker could be used to decide who…
