‘I had a sick feeling in my stomach’: Benched Zach Wilson apologizes to Jets for deflecting blame

After some initial signs to the contrary, benched New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson is accepting responsibility for Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots and has apologized to teammates for deflecting blame in his postgame comments.

‘I had a sick feeling in my stomach,’ Wilson told reporters Wednesday.

The second-year quarterback was undeniably bad at blustery Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on Sunday, completing only 9 of 22 passes for 77 yards. But as bad as he played, he only exacerbated things in the postgame press conference.
