Footage has emerged of the moment a car speeds through a red light before it smashes into a 12-year-old boy and its driver flees the scene.

The boy was riding his bike with his brother and father when he was struck on Kessels Road, at Macgregor, in Brisbane’s south, about 12.05pm on Thursday.
