Strong 7.5 earthquake hits Mexico’s southwest coast – sparking buildings to sway and tsunami alert to be issued

  • The earthquake shook Mexico’s Pacific coast on Monday
  • Buildings swayed during the quake and people were evacuated in Mexico City 
  • It struck 29 miles south-southeast of La Placita de Morelos in the state of Michoacan and was at a depth of 6.2 miles, USGS said
  • This comes after deadly Hurricane Fiona made landfall on Puerto Rico on Sunday
