Woolworths issues a four-week grocery warning that every Australian needs to know about as prices soar

  • Cold and wet weather has impacted fruit and veg growing conditions and supply
  • Woolworths lettuce, berries and beans stock said to return in July to late August 
  • Consumer Price Index figures revealed price of veggies rose 12.7% in one year 

Woolworths has warned the price of lettuce is likely to stay at an all-time high with shoppers having to wait until late August for a reprieve to their grocery bill. 

In an email sent to shoppers on Thursday, the supermarket giant said weather conditions along with disrupted planting schedules will keep lettuce in short supply.
