Grieving family brand NRL star’s brother ‘cowardly killer’ after horror Sydney crash

The brother of a disgraced former NRL star has been labelled a ‘cowardly killer’ by the family of the mother who was killed in a horror car crash.

Troy Xerri, the 29-year-old stepbrother of ex-Cronulla Sharks centre Bronson, lost control of his car and ploughed head first into the vehicle of 63-year-old Jo Duke in November, 2019 in Eastwood in Sydney’s northwest.

Bronson supported his brother in NSW District Court for his sentencing hearing on Friday, with the family of Mrs Duke repeatedly referring to him as her ‘killer’.

‘This was no motor vehicle accident, it was human slaughter,’ Mick Duke, husband of Mrs Duke, told the court, News.com.au reported.

‘He is a coward for not giving an initial statement to police regardless of legal protection.’
