Andrew Cuomo sues New York ethics commission to stop them from seizing more than $5million profits from his Covid-era memoir amid claims he used state resources to produce and promote it

  • Andrew Cuomo filed a lawsuit Friday against the New York ethics committee in an effort to prevent the commission from seizing his earnings from a book
  • The book was written over the Cuomo administration’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic before he stepped down as the state’s governor in August 
  • Cuomo claimed there was an ‘extraordinary bias against him’ and accused the Joint Commission on Public Ethics of violating his constitutional rights
  • The commission ordering him to forfeit $5.1 million he made from his book deal back in December, according to the lawsuit filed in the Supreme Court of Albany
