Police have offered a £5000 reward to catch a sex attacker who raped a 13-year-old girl in a Nottinghamshire cemetery as they release CCTV of the prime suspect.
The teenager was walking home from school alone when she was approached by a male stranger and attacked in Retford, Nottinghamshire at 3.30pm on December 12, 2019 – the date of the general election that year.
Holding a knife, he told her not to make a sound before raping her in Retford Cemetery, by a bridge near the entrance along North Road.
Detectives have released CCTV footage of the man wearing blue jeans and a black coat with his hood up, taken around the time of the incident.
At the time the charity Crimestoppers offered a reward of £1,000 for information that helps catch the offender.
But Nottinghamshire Police today revealed that reward had been increased to £5,000 as detectives are still hunting the attacker more than two years on.
