  • Fire crews were called to the scene at 8am Thursday following reports of a fire 
  • Roughly 40 per cent of the home was lost in the blaze after residents evacuated
  • Specialist investigators confirmed a lightning strike was the cause of the blaze

Two people have been hospitalised after lightning struck their home.

Fire crews arrived to the Bundoora, Melbourne, home around 8am on Monday to find the three residents of the home had self-evacuated.
