Bondi backpacker hostel is locked down due to a Covid outbreak with police taping off the building

A popular backpacker hostel has been plunged into a lock down due to a Covid outbreak as police are seen taping off the building.

Noah’s Backpackers Hostel has been cordoned off from the public as police officers wearing blue protective scrubs monitor the entrance.

At this stage it is not known how many people are staying at the accommodation or how many people have tested positive to the virus.

It comes after the Bondi hostel was closed down in April of last year after a large group of people was seen mingling on a rooftop balcony.

Guests were seen flouting distancing practices and stay-at-home measures in the midst of lockdown in which Bondi considered the epicentre of the outbreak.

More to come.
