A Brooklyn woman was brutally punched in the face by a teenage girl after asking her ‘mask up,’ and the NYPD is now calling on the public’s help to identify the suspect.
An unidentified woman, 39, was violently punched after reportedly telling a teenage girl to put on a mask, which led to a ‘verbal dispute,’ authorities said.
The attack happened around 11am on October 28 near Fulton Street in the Ocean Hill neighborhood in Brooklyn in New York City.
The teenage girl, wearing a purple and white sweatshirt and a backpack, attacked the woman as she appeared to be walking away.
The woman, dressed in a purple sweater and black skirt, was hit in side of the face so hard she stumbled a few steps before doubled over in pain, gripping her face with both hands.

The woman apparently told the girl to ‘mask up,’ which led to a ‘verbal dispute,’ authorities said
She appeared to be turning back to face the girl when the she was hit.
The girl, who appeared to be with a younger girl, walked calmly away after assaulting the woman.
The victim refused medical attention, the police reported. It is unknown the extent of her injuries.
Police are now calling on the public’s help to identify the girl, who has been described as being between 14 and 16 years old with a dark complexion, wearing a multicolor sweatshirt and backpack with white sneakers.
The attack has been reported as crime surges in New York City.
Felony assaults are up 8.4 percent in the city. Rape and robbery are also up, with overall crime up 1.9 percent compared to last year.
