A fire has erupted at Pinewood studios, prompting emergency services to rush to the scene. 

The blaze, which has sent huge plumes of smoke into the air above the studios, in Slough, Berkshire, began in a workshop at around 9pm on Thursday evening.

It is not yet known what has caused the fire. Pinewood Studios has been home to the James Bond sound stage since 1976.

A previous fire in July 2006 saw production on Daniel Craig’s first Bond film Casino Royale ground to a halt. 

The stage also burnt down in June 1984, when director Ridley Scott’s film Legend was being filmed.  

In 2019, three explosions on the set of Daniel Craig’s last bond film No Time To Die left a crew member injured after a stunt went wrong.

A source said at the time: ‘It was utter chaos. A fireball was supposed to go through the set. That was the stunt but something has gone horribly wrong. 

‘There were three loud explosions, one after another, and a member of the crew was lying on the floor outside the building injured. The place is now on total lockdown.
