A California elementary school teacher has come under fire after posting a video on social media telling students who were waving a F*** Joe Biden flag during a Veterans Day rally to ‘go jump off a bridge.’

Kristin Usilton, 38, a teacher at Glen Speck Elementary School in Paso Robles, shared a video on her Instagram in which she appears to tell her young students about confronting members of the Conservative Club from Paso Robles High School who were waving the derogatory flag.

‘The Paso Robles Conservative Club for the high school, you can go jump off a bridge,’ Usilton stated on her Instagram story.

‘I’m going to post what they thought was a great show of support for the veterans, who I’m pretty sure would be absolutely offended by what they did on school campus. And had the LGBTQ population done that or the black or the Hispanic community members, we would have had our asses chewed out.’

Usilton followed those comments by posting a video showing Conservative Club members at the high school waving the anti-Biden flag in the school’s parking lot.

Later in the day, Usilton made another video, attempting to backtrack on her claims.

‘When I said ‘go jump off a bridge,’ I just meant go away, and I will not use that term again because of the incredible influx of messages I got about that,’ Usilton said. ‘But if that’s what you focused on in that message, you’re kind of part of the problem.’

As of Thursday afternoon, Usilton had deleted her Instagram account, DailyMail.com can confirm.

The Paso Robles Joint Unified School District said that it is conducting investigations into both videos of the anti-Biden flag and Usilton’s remarks in her online videos.

‘Last Wednesday, a student effort to honor Veterans Day was disrupted by a very poor choice to include a profane flag. This both detracted from the intended purpose of the demonstration and led to considerable disruption, including some postings and exchanges on social media that were completely inappropriate,’ school district superintendent Curt Dubost said in a statement.

‘The objectionable flag was up for a very limited amount of time; however, we in no way condone nor excuse this misguided action. Students will be appropriately disciplined in accordance with District policies.’

‘Later that day, a District employee posted comments on social media regarding this event which were inappropriate, and the District is responding accordingly through the Human Resource office. The District will make it clear to all employees that as an employee of PRJUSD, social media is not the appropriate venue for criticism of our students and families and that we must conduct ourselves in a professional manner. The community is entrusting their children to our schools and employees. With this stated, we want to emphasize that the District does not tolerate threats on our employees or students, nor do we condone cyber-bullying,’ Dubost concluded.

Dubost added that the district will encourage efforts that ‘promote tolerance and unity’ in the future.

‘Veterans Day should be a day for patriotism and honoring service, not yet another politically divisive controversy,’ Dubost said.

He has not responded to DailyMail.com’s request for comment.

Usilton has been teaching at the school for six years, describing herself as a ‘dual immersion teacher’, according to the Paso Robles Press.

The teacher’s fiance, Eusebio Martinez Jr., told The Paso Robles Press that he could not comment on the incident due to the ongoing investigation.

He also asked Fox News to take down its coverage on the matter because it’s ‘ruining her good name.’

On Twitter, many users condemned Usilton’s rhetoric and questioned whether she should remain at the school.

‘Her actions make it clear she is unfit to teach children and should be fired immediately. Contact the school system and put pressure on them to fire Ms Usilton,’ one user wrote.

‘Unacceptable rhetoric from Ms. Kristin Usilton,’ Marine Cpl. Jersey Bott wrote. ‘Sad that this is taking place in our schools.’

‘Adults, and educators in particular, should know better and do better,’ one mother posted.

Usilton’s remarks come after two students at the same high school stole a teacher’s Pride flag from their classroom in mid-September. One of the students later posted a video on TikTok of them defecating on the flag. The video has since been removed.

The school district responded by limiting the size of the flag allowed to be shown in classrooms, sparking outrage among the local community.

‘It was definitely an act of hate directed at the LGBTQ community,’ said Geoffrey Land, social sciences teacher at Paso High. ‘And a lot of students felt it, you know, felt that attack very acutely.’

The students involved in the incident were disciplined for their actions, according to school and district administrators.
