BREAKING NEWS: Two areas in regional NSW are plunged back into lockdown for at least a WEEK










Two regional areas in NSW will be plunged back into lockdown for at least a week.  

The Lismore and Albury LGAs will go into lockdown for seven days at 6pm on Thursday, Health Minister Brad Hazzard announced on Thursday morning. 

Deputy Chief Health Officer Marianne Gale said one case had been detected in the Lismore area in NSW’s far north in the past 24 hours.

‘The reason for [the lockdown] is to try and get a handle on what exactly is going on in the local areas,’ Mr Hazzard said.

‘More often than not, health determines it will be 14 days but in this case, looking at the issues, health has determined seven days will be appropriate.

‘But I’m just warning the community that it may be longer.’
