Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of murder after a five-year-old girl was found dead in Ealing.

Emergency services were called to a property in Leyborne Avenue at 1pm on Tuesday after concerns for the welfare of the occupants.

Police and paramedics found the body of the girl inside the property and pronounced her dead at the scene.

A 31-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody.

Police said the woman and girl were known to each other.

The girl’s family has been made aware of her death, according to police.

A post-mortem is due to take place.
