BREAKING NEWS: Cops launch investigation into the 2018 ‘trip-and-fall’ death of Alex Murdaugh’s housekeeper – one day after it emerges the legal scion paid a hitman to kill him following the murder of his wife and son

Police have launched an investigation into the 2018 ‘trip-and-fall’ death of Alex Murdaugh’s housekeeper – one day after investigators said the legal scion had paid a hitman to kill him following the double murder of his wife and son.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) announced Wednesday it is now investigating the death of Gloria Satterfield and the handling of her estate.

Satterfield, 57, was the Murdaugh housekeeper for around 25 years when she suffered a fatal brain injury following a mystery fall. She died on February 26 2018.

Murdaugh settled a wrongful death claim with her family that year.

The investigation marks the latest twist in the Murdaugh family saga which began when Murdaugh’s wife Maggie and son Paul were shot dead back at the family hunting lodge in June.
