Police have released an image as they hunt for a rail passenger seen hitting a child four times in the head.

The man is said to have told a train conductor who confronted him: ‘I can do what I want, he’s my son.’

The alleged assault happened on the Manchester Airport to Blackpool North service just after 7.30pm on July 21.

British Transport Police have now released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.  

A BTP spokesperson said the man pictured may have ‘vital information’ that could help in their investigation.

Anyone who recognises him, or has any information, is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 577 of 21/07/21.
