The experienced 34-year-old left Crystal Palace after his contract ended, having played 132 times in all competitions during his eight seasons at SE25.
Hennessey had interest from Chelsea and Aston Villa also, with Thomas Tuchel and Dean Smith previously considering him for a backup option.

The 96-cap Wales international held talks with Burnley last week and the signing is expected to be confirmed on Monday.
Sheffield Wednesday have asked about taking Burnley’s Bailey Peacock-Farrell on loan.
Peacock-Farrell, 24, did play eight times in all competitions last season but Clarets manager Sean Dyche may feel he will get more game-time and senior experience at another club, on a temporary basis.
