That effectively ended his season, with Wolves struggling to replace him up front, trying teenager Fabio Silva and loanee Willian Jose as a forward, without significant success.
But now, after 230 days, Wolves announced via the club’s official Twitter account that Jimenez has now returned to the starting XI in a pre-season friendly against Crewe Alexandra.
Their post read: ‘We have some big news…’ followed by a wolf and Mexican flag emoji and a ‘Jimenez is back’ graphic.
