Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has joined Portuguese side Boavista for some additional training before heads back to Old Trafford to start pre-season.

The 26-year-old was given some time off to rest and recover following his Euro 2020 campaign with Portugal this summer. However, he has decided to work on his fitness and skills instead.

Fernandes has linked up with his boyhood club – which he spent eight years at as a child – to ensure he returns to England in his peak condition.

Boavista shared an Instagram post of Fernandes holding one of their match shirts, with the accompanying caption: ‘He already has the magic shirt! Have your ordered yours?’.

Before posting a video of the midfielder in action at their training ground with the caption: ‘Bruno Fernandes + Boavista FC – there is no love like the first.’

Before adding: ‘Don’t worry Manchester United, he will arrive even better!’

The video captures Fernandes working through several drills, working on his footwork, speed and accuracy.

The midfielder – who has scored 40 goals for United since arriving from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020 – was also seen practicing his shooting.

Fernandes will be eager to add to his tally next season and help Manchester United push for the title once again.
